Shari Foster - Head Coach
Miss Shari started twirling at the age of 4 years old after seeing girls twirling in a parade. Even though she cried at every lesson for the first year, she competed at the provincial and national level until the age of 16. After her twirling career, she took the CBTF coaching certification courses and have been coaching ever since. She is passionate about baton twirling and loves teaching kids about our unique sport. She has been working as the Executive Director for the Alberta Baton Twirling Association for the past 16 years.
Miss Kristi - Dance Instructor
Kristi Sikorski has been a dancer/teacher/choreographer for over 25 years in Edmonton and surrounding area. Kristi started her training as a young dancer in Stony Plain and Spruce Grove training in Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop. Kristi started teaching her first dance class at the age of 16. By 20 yrs, Kristi owned her own dance studio and was teaching in several other studios outside of Edmonton. Training with the Grant MacEwan College dance program Kristi was exposed to Modern dance which helped her to take her choreography to a more creative level. She continues to educate and keep up her training by attending dance teacher conferences in New York, Las Vegas, L.A and Calgary. Kristi is certified in both Acrobatic Arts as well as Rhythm Works and is aBarre instructor. Developing each students love and passion for dance is Kristi’s goal with every dancer she teaches, and is so grateful to be able to share her own passion and love for dance with her students.
Our Junior Coaches
Miss Olivia has had dance training since the age of 2 in a variety of different styles including ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Miss Olivia joined baton when she was 13 years old and has loved it ever since. She is certified as a CBTF level 1 and level 2 coach and is Module One certified in Acrobatic Arts. Miss Olivia is currently in her third year at the University of Alberta studying Psychology and is involved with a variety of child and youth programs. She is very excited to share her love of dance, acro and baton with her students!
Miss Alex has been twirling baton since she was 13 and began shadowing Miss Shari when she was 17. After completing her CBTF level 1 coaching course, Miss Alex began coaching her own recreational courses and has been coaching for Northern Lights Twirl Team ever since. Although Miss Alex is not competing anymore, she enjoys sharing her love for the sport with future athletes. Miss Alex is currently in her third year at the University of Alberta completing an Animal Health Science degree and will be entering into Veterinary Medicine. Miss Alex is looking forward to meeting all of the new athletes and excited to begin the new twirling year!
Miss Feimoon started twirling baton at age 12 along side her two sisters, and has been a CBTF Level 1 coach for 3 years. Although she no longer twirls, her love and excitement for the sport still remains, and hopes to spread that passion to others. Miss Feimoon is currently studying at York University, majoring in Communication Studies, and hopes to get involved in Public Relations. She is always excited to lend a helping hand, meet new students & show them the amazing world of baton!
